LENA, Miss. — With profound sadness, Madison Alford, 23, of Lena, Mississippi, is being remembered after her life was tragically cut short in a two-boat collision on the Ross Barnett Reservoir early Sunday morning.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:02 a.m. in an area north of Goshen Springs in Rankin County. According to authorities, the Reservoir Police Department responded to reports of a collision involving two boats and seven people.

Madison was confirmed deceased following the crash. Four other people were injured, while two others were reportedly uninjured. Bystanders in the area rushed to assist those involved before emergency crews arrived at the scene.
